Independence Day.

This year’s 4th of July was perfect. The weather is hot, the company was great, and the day was jam packed with excitement. Our day started out bright and early. Austin and I had tickets to the city’s pancake breakfast and decided to venture to the hot air balloon festival while we were out. I loved watching the hot air balloons take flight. It reminded me of my childhood living in Panguitch. The hot air balloon festival down there was always one of my favorite summertime activities.

After the balloon festival, Austin decided he wanted to go golfing with his buddy. I wasn’t about to spend my 4th of July sitting at home alone so I called the Crandall’s up and asked to crash their plans to visit Seven Peaks Waterpark. This was my first time to the waterpark this summer. It was nice to be able to float in the lazy river or layout in the wave pool. The only downside was the nasty sunburn I am now suffering through. Being pregnant I wasn’t able to ride any waterslides so I became the official photographer. This seemed to be the favorite waterslide…

Later that afternoon Austin and I headed up to Lehi to his grandparent’s house. It felt like a giant family reunion because so much family was there. We had the traditional yummy BBQ and Austin’s cousin opened her mission call. She is going to Manilla Phillipines and is going to make an awesome missionary.

That night we headed to the Stadium of Fire. This year featured Scotty McCreery and The Beach Boys. Honestly, I wasn’t too thrilled to sit on the hard bleachers all night and listen to two bands I wasn’t very fond of but I actually really enjoyed myself. Scotty sounded great live. I was also amazed at how easily The Beach Boys could bring people of all ages to their feet. They put on an awesome show. The night ended with fireworks which was by far my favorite. No 4th of July is complete without fireworks. The baby didn’t seem to enjoy the fireworks as much as I did though. Whenever a big firework went off she would spaz out inside my belly. She was kicking, squirming, and making me uncomfortable the whole time.

To finish the day off, I found out Carlie, one of my amigos, had her baby. Baby Wytten finally came! I cannot wait to go visit and hold him. Seeing pictures of the little guy sure is making me anxious for my little girl to finally get here.
