Baby Bump | 20 weeks.

I was awful about documenting my pregnancy with Kennadi so I vowed to be a bit better with this pregnancy. Clearly i am failing miserably considering I am half way through my pregnancy and finally doing my first update. Opps! Here are some fun facts about my pregnancy at 20 weeks...

Baby size: about 10.5 oz and 10 inches long -- about the size of a banana.
Gender: Girl! We had an ultrasound at 15 weeks and they told us it was a girl. We (Austin especially) was a big skeptical considering it was that early so we looked forward to the 20 week anatomy scan to confirm the results. Sure enough, the anatomy scan showed it was indeed a girl.
Symptoms: I have been so blessed to have such easy pregnancies with no morning sickness. If it wasn't for my growing belly and the kicks and punches happening in my insides, it would be hard to know I was even pregnant! No complaints from me!
Cravings: None really. I never really had any with Kennadi either. I wouldn't turn down anything sweet or full of chocolate though!
Names: This has been a tough one for us, I am happy to report we have it narrowed down to 3 names though. If you know Austin, you know this is HUGE! Maybe we will make some more progress within the next week or two and finally nail one down.
Fun moments: Austin finally got to feel the baby kick! Kennadi is also starting to grasp the fact that she will be a big sister. She always asks to hug, kiss, tickle, or rub lotion or baby sister. I am excited to see how Kennadi reacts when the baby actually gets here.

Fall Recap.

Halloween.
Kennadi loved Halloween this year. She dressed up as a mermaid and thought she was pretty hot stuff. We decided to head to Tremonton to trick or treat since all of our family is up that way anyway. Halloween fell on a Friday too which was an added bonus! I wasn't sure how she would act Trick or Treating so we practiced a couple of days beforehand. She picked it up real quick and had no problem running from door to door asking for candy. Kennadi was really disappointed when the night was over and for days after whenever anybody would knock on our door, she would run to it and yell trick or trick. She is sure a funny kid!

Don't mind my oh so photogenic child...
Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving was spent on the Richard's side of the family this year. Of course I ate too much food but I am not complaining! Kennadi loved playing with all of her cousins especially "Baby Lydia and Baby Chloe".  Throughout our time staying there, we went and watched Big Hero 6 in the theater and helped set up the Christmas tree. The tree was quite a sight with the ornaments only hung as high as the little arms would reach. Kennadi sure enjoyed helping out though!

All the cousins.
Another real quality photo of Kennadi...
Time out for Women.
Austin's mom and sisters invited me to join them for Time Out for Women in Salt Lake. It was great to get away and have some girl time without tending to a busy toddler. The event was for two-days so we all spent the night in a hotel. If you haven't been or heard of Time Out for Women, I highly recommend it. Its a spiritually uplifting, entertaining, and fun conference! I hope we do it again next year.

Jazz Game.
I was selected to be the Utah Jazz Family of the Game. Again. You can read about my last experience here. No complaints from this gal as I love being chosen! Being the Family of the Game means we got to sit on the court and watch the team warm up, be plastered on the big screen during the game, and get tunnel access after the game to meet the players and get autographs. My mom and dad came with us, and we had a lot of fun! The Jazz played the New Orleans Pelicans and ended up losing. Win or lose, I still love my jazz and enjoyed going to the game!

Caribbean Vacation Part 3 | Nassau and Debarkation.

Day 5 -- Nassau, Bahamas.
Our last port of the trip was Nassau, Bahamas. The weather was a little uncooperative this day but we still managed to enjoy the island. We started the day off with a submarine tour. We headed out to some of the nearby reefs to see all of the fishes. There were tons of fishes and even turtles! After the submarine tour, we got a tour of the city. We got to see celebrity's houses, visit Fort Fincastle, and go shopping in some local straw markets. I am glad we were able to stop in Nassau but if I never go back again I won't be mad. It seemed a little dirty and it was sooo busy. There were 4 cruise ships in the port that day which seemed pretty normal to all the locals.
Notice my sweet straw hat I got at the straw market.
Waiting for the submarine tour to start -- going for the sunburn/no makeup look
Our home for the week
Lighthouse with The Atlantis Resort in the background (I would visit there in a heartbeat!)

Day 6 -- Debarkation.
This is the day I absolutely dread whenever I go on a cruise. I hate that last day and having to pack my bags and head home. This means that my vacation is really over and reality sets in. We had a late flight home so we took our time getting off the ship and then hung out for a while in the airport. We had a layover in Chicago so I got to fulfill a dream of seeing the Chicago skyline. That made my day. It was nice to finally land in Salt Lake and get to see Kennadi. A week away from her was a long time but I don't think she missed me at all. She had way too much fun playing with grandma and grandpa.

Now I need to start planning and saving for our next vacation. I have the vacation bug already! Any suggestions on what our next vacation should be?

Snuggling with Kennadi when we got home. She got a bit spoiled for a couple of days. I missed her.

Caribbean Vacation Part 2 | Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay.

Day 3 -- Grand Turk.
Our first port was Grand Turk. This island is part of the Turk and Caicos Island. Grand Turk is actually a pretty historic island. It was where Christopher Columbus first landed when he was trying to find the new world and Astronaut John Glenn splashed down at Grand Turk after his historic space mission. The island was very green and tropical. The first thing I noticed was the water though. It was so blue and pretty. It was a drastic difference than the Pacific ocean that I am used to. We were one of the first ones off the ship because we were only stopped in the island until the early afternoon and we wanted to take advantage of the island! We started the day on a trolley ride around the island. It was nice to see the whole island, learn more about the history and culture, and stop at some of the popular destinations. After the trolley ride we spent the rest of the day snorkeling. The water was so clear and there was a big wall where the dug the cruise terminal which made the snorkeling amazing. I would definitely visit Grand Turk again. I loved that island!

At the Lighthouse.
They have wild donkeys roaming the island. How rad is that?

Day 4 -- Half Moon Cay.
The next day we stopped at Half Moon Cay. This is a private island that Carnival Cruise Lines owns. This was my favorite stop the whole trip. The whole island was like something out of a magazine. It also helped that the ocean was so clear. At times I felt like I was swimming in a swimming pool. We spent the whole day at the beach. We went snorkeling, swimming, laid out in a hammock, and ate some delicious caribbean barbecue. I was sad when this day had to end. This port had everything that a tropical vacation should entail.

Relaxing in the Hammock.
But seriously...
Look at how pretty that water is (the man isn't too bad looking either)!

Caribbean Vacation Part 1 | Miami and Sea Day.

By some miracle I convinced Austin to take me on a Caribbean cruise. Alright, maybe it wasn't a miracle and simply free flights and super cheap cruise deals but whatever works, right? Darci and Britten came along with us because vacations are always more fun with family! We flew out on Friday to head to Miami. Austin and I ended up getting delayed for 3 hours in the Denver airport (no fun) so we didn't get into Miami until after midnight. When we finally landed, we got a taxi and went to our hotel where Darci and Britten were waiting for us. The next morning was when the real fun would begin....

Day 1 -- Embarkation.
After we slept in from our late night flight, we headed to the cruise port to board the wonderful Carnival Victory. I will say, I have been on 4 Carnival cruises in the past 3 years and this ship was my favorite! We spent the rest of the day exploring the ship, stuffing our faces with food, and working on our tan by the pool. The food was delicious during the whole trip (like melt in your mouth, order second and thirds, eat so much they have to roll you out of the dining room good).

Day 2 -- Sea day.
The second day on the ship was a sea day. We started the day off with the seaday brunch. I had the most delicious french toast covered in fruit loops. I should have snapped a photo of it, it was that good! We then hit the pools and water slide. The ship had 4 pools and a water slide so there was plenty of options to keep us cool in the blistering heat. We also took some swings in the mini golf course, played some shuffleboard, laughed at the comedy club, watched some movies under the stars next to the pool, and of course stuffed our face with food (like I said, i liked the food)!

Flying to Miami. Austin was sooo worried about Ebola but we survived! :)
On the boat. Leaving Miami.

BYU Football Games.

Lorie and Clay once again hooked us up with some BYU football season tickets this year. Austin lives for BYU football games (as do I) so we were of course pumped to get to go to the games again this year. The season started out great with a ranked team and a potential heisman candidate quarterback but soon the season turned sour. With injury after injury, it turned to be quite an effort to get some wins. Despite the disappointing season, we of course enjoyed ourselves at each and every game. It was fun having seats next to Kelby, Alexis, Markel, and Clayci (even if we did have some obnoxious children behind us). Hopefully next season will be even better!
Special shout out to my dear sister Madison. She watched Kennadi during every game. She is the real MVP here :)

Tailgating.
Trying not to get hypothermia. This game was coldddd.

Daddy's Girl.

It is true that there is no relationship quite like that of a father and daughter. Kennadi has her daddy wrapped around her little finger and Austin is definitely one of Kennadi's favorite people. Kennadi is always asking about her daddy and loves spending time with him. Everyday she countdowns the minutes until Austin gets home from work and is always begging to go on "dates" with him (she has even gotten upset when I have tagged along on those precious dates). I love watching them do each others hair, dance to princess songs, and playing golf together. Kennadi sure is lucky she got such a patient, caring, and loving dad. Aren't these two adorable together?

Zoo day.

Kennadi has been begging to go to the zoo. At least I interpret it that way since she is always asking to look at our San Diego zoo pictures. I stumbled upon some free Hogle Zoo tickets so I jumped on the chance of taking Kennadi again. Austin had to work, but we had a fun mommy and Kennadi date anyway. Kennadi loved looking at all the animals (especially the giraffes and "dolphins" aka otters) and I loved watching her soak it all in. She is in such a fun stage and i loved having the one-on-one time with her. Hopefully next summer we will be able to venture up to the zoo more.

2 years.

At 2 years Kennadi is...

-weighs 27 pounds and 35 inches long.
-in 24 month and 2t clothes.
-is a girly girl. Loves wearing dresses, brushing hair, painting her toes, and doing makeup.
-her favorite place in the whole world is church. She is always asking about church and must point every church out when we are driving. We have absolutely no problem with her in nursery.
-is obsessed with anything disney and is pretty darn good with name that tune when it comes to disney songs.
-calls Austin her "prince" and loves when he will dance with her.
-can count to 15
-loves monsters and dinosaurs. She has a pretty intimidating monster roar too.
-loves to surprise Austin when he comes home from work. If she doesn't get to surprise him, she makes him go back out the door and try it again.
-loves the doctor and never cries when we go (except when its time to leave). She asks all the time if she can go and get shots. Maybe we have a future physician on our hands!

Kennadi's 2nd Birthday Party.

Because Kennadi is obsessed with Disney Princesses (especially Ariel), we decided to throw Kennadi a Little Mermaid Birthday Party. We had a lot of family come and wish Kennadi happy birthday and Kennadi loved the attention! The whole party was pretty low key. We had "under the sea" themed food, opened presents, and just visited. Kennadi kept wanting a birthday party for days afterward!

Kelby and Alexis Wedding.

Kelby and Alexis sealed the deal on September 6th (Kennadi's Birthday! Horray!). I have always thought Kelby was a pretty neat cousin and in a way considered him a brother especially since me and Markel were pretty inseparable for years. Kennadi has grown pretty found of him as well (and Alexis too!). We were so excited that he was getting married and that we would get to join in on the festivities! Kelby and Alexis got married in the Salt Lake temple. Kennadi enjoyed roaming the temple grounds with Madison and Clayci while we were in the sealing ceremony. That gal sure loves the temples and her Aunt Madison! After the temple ceremony, they had a gorgeous luncheon and reception in Spanish Fork. Not only was everything decorated perfectly, the food was delish. I may have ate more than I should have. Opps! It was a perfect day and we couldn't be any happier for them!
