Fiesta Days.

One of the things I miss most about living in Spanish Fork is Fiesta Days. Luckily we live close enough, we can just go venture down for a day and still get to participate in all the activities! Because Austin had to work on the 24th of July, I took the girls down to watch the parade. Kennadi wasn't the best at grabbing the candy. She would only grab one, run and put it in her pile, and then get sad when she went back and all the candy was already picked up! She sure has a good pouty face though that made all the older boys feel bad and give her some of theirs. Whatever works, right? Kennadi was particularly found of the princesses. She also loved the BYU cheerleaders who let her play with their pom poms. She couldn't quite understand why she couldn't keep them though. Quincy slept through most of the parade, even when the gazillion firetrucks and ambulances went by with the sirens a blaring.

That night, Austin and I headed out to the rodeo. Austin's parents were nice enough to come down and watch the girls for us. The rodeo started 8 pm, their usual bedtime, so I knew they wouldn't have been able to make it through it. The rodeo was entertaining. My favorite part was the mutton bustin' and Austin's favorite part was the funnel cake. Until next year Fiesta Days....

Tremonton Getaway.

One weekend we ventured up to Tremonton for a fun, filled weekend. We are lucky that we have such great family that is always willing to let us stay with them! The weekend started off with a trip to daddy's work, Chick-Fil-A, and a long car ride.

The next morning was a bit rainy, so an impromptu rain dance was a must.

Once the weather cleared up, a canoe trip was in store for Kennadi, Austin, and Grandma Heidi. Kennadi loved seeing the fish and "bird houses."

Meanwhile, Lizzy and I enjoyed some spa treatments.

Afterwards, we all went and soaked up in Crystal Hot Springs. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of this adventure. Kennadi loved playing in the cold pool, under the waterfall, and getting lots of attention. Quincy also enjoyed herself chilling in the warm pools. I think i enjoyed just spending a few days out of the house!

Bean Museum.

My cousin Brityn and Cameron and their little families came to Utah for a visit. Considering they are from Vegas and Tucson, I don't get to see them as often as I would like. I loved being able to catch up with them and Kennadi loved playing with her cousins. One of the days they were in town, we headed to the Bean Museum on BYU campus. I had never been to the museum before, and I must admit I was impressed. Kennadi loved looking at all the animals, but she told me her favorite part was the slide. Considering the museum was free, I bet we will be back sometime soon!

Keeping up with Kennadi.

Here is part 2 of Keeping Up With Kennadi aka funny things Kennadi says and/or does.

*One evening Austin called Kennadi a little girl. Kennadi quickly replied with "Not a girl, I am a Princess." She then proceeded to ask Austin for some lotion. Austin handed her the bottle and Kennadi quickly said, "No dad. Rub my feet with the lotion." You think she is spoiled much??

*Madison sent us a picture of her and Sleeping Beauty in Walt Disney World. I showed Kennadi and she had a breakdown. Apparently Sleeping Beauty is Kennadi's favorite and not Madison's. Madison quickly remedied the situation by saying that Sleeping Beauty wanted her to tell Kennadi hi. Kennadi thought she was pretty hot stuff the rest of the day and told everyone that Sleeping Beauty loved her and told her hi. She even went as far as wearing a pink dress so she and Sleeping Beauty could match.

*Kennad's nursery teacher brought Kennadi into Relief Society for me one Sunday. As soon as Kennadi saw me she yelled, "Mom I need to go poop." Might I add the room was dead silent. All the ladies sure got a chuckle out of that one.

*Austin and I were talking about flying to California for our next vacation. Austin made the comment that Aubrey and Trey had their flights booked and were already flying. Kennadi quickly corrected Austin, that Aubrey and Trey weren't flying because they don't have wings. She even did the little wing flapping movement with it.

*Austin was making shelves for the bathroom and Kennadi desperately wanted to help. Austin let her hand him the wood pieces before he nailed them together. Every time Kennadi would give him one she would say, "here you go, your highness" and do a little bow.

*I was showing Kennadi a picture of planet Earth from space. Kennadi goes, "Look, it's Space Mountain." I guess we may be a bit too Disney obsessed at our house!

*I asked Kennadi how nursery was when I picked her up. After a long sigh she said, "Not good. The toys were boring and the boys weren't cute."

Quincy | 3 months.

At 3 Months Quincy is...

-in size 1 diapers and wearing 0-3 month and 3 month clothes
-Sleep schedule is still all over the place. Some nights she will sleep through the night and others she will get up once around 4 am. During the day, she prefers to take little cat naps in my arms.
-Starting to coo and smile. She is happiest first thing in the morning
-Still nursing exclusively with a bottle here or there when I need some sanity
-Hates tummy time and will roll onto her back every time we put her on her tummy
-starting to grab onto things and hold them. Kennadi thinks it's the greatest thing because now they can play barbies and dolls together.
-Sooo drooly. I usually have to put a bib on her throughout the day or her clothes get soaked.
-Loves her hands and has unfortunately found her thumb.

Quincy's Baby Blessing.

Quincy got blessed by her dad on July 5th. Austin gave such a sweet and simple blessing and Quincy was mellow and happy during the whole thing (after the blessing is a different story...). Even though it was a long holiday weekend, we had lots of family come and support us. Our families are seriously the best. After church, we headed to our clubhouse and had brunch. Even though brunch didn't turn out flawlessly (like power breakers going out and causing the waffle makers not to work), it was still a nice day!

Balloon Fest.

Every 4th of July we like to go to the Balloon Fest in Provo. We woke up super early this year, because we wanted to experience the magic of them blowing up the balloons and taking off. We seemed to have missed that part the past year or two and we weren't about to do that again. I was a little worried about the girls being cranky from waking up early, but they both handled it like champs. Kennadi was in awe the whole time they were blowing the balloons up even though she thought the fire was a bit loud. Every time it went off she would cover her ears and yell, "stop it or I'll spank your bum." It is so fun to be standing in the middle of a field while balloons are popping up all around you, some even mere feet away. We stayed and watched the balloons for a bit and then headed to Kneaders from some yummy french toast. We may have had to wake up early but it was definitely worth it!

Island Park.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is visit Island Park. I think I have gotten Austin addicted to Island Park as well because he was really looking forward to our trip this year. He was looking forward to it so much that he even requested fishing gear for Father's day (which was a nice break from the usually requested golf equipment). My Grandma and Grandpa Packer are champs for letting us stay with them in their cabin every time we want to visit. During this trip, Kennadi loved playing with Great Grandma Packer and I am sure she wore her right out! When we got up to Island Park, Austin and Britten went golfing and I just stayed at the cabin. The next day, Austin ventured out fishing with the boys. Austin thought he was pretty hot stuff because he splurged and bought a soda hat for the trip. He was probably the funniest looking guy on the lake (i am sure my dad and grandmpa agree) but at least he didn't get dehydrated! After the fishing adventures, we headed into Yellowstone. We opted to avoid most of the tourist hot spots and venture to The Canyons portion of the park. Quincy slept the whole time we were in the park. Kennadi kept trying to stay away because she really wanted to see a reindeer like Sveen (aka an elk), a fox, and a Marshmallow (aka a Buffalo). Of course as soon as she fell asleep we saw some elk but luckily she was awake when we saw a lone buffalo and a bald eagle. For some reason, the animals were not out and about this trip. It was disappointing. Kennadi didn't seem to be that disappointed because grandma and grandpa spoiled us with some ice cream at one of the lodges.

We love Island Park and are always sad when our trips come to an end. Austin went through Island Park withdrawals. So much so that he  kept looking up property for sale so that someday we could buy our own little piece of paradise and visit all the time.
