Our First House.

Since we have moved out of our house, I thought I better post some photos of it so I can keep them for memory sake. We (more like Austin) put a lot of hard work and sweat into making this house "ours." It was bittersweet to leave but this will always be our "first house." Now onto the next chapter in our lives...

Moving.

With Austin working in Salt Lake and dealing with an hour plus commute each way/each day, a new baby coming, an obnoxious toddler that wears me out, and a hot real estate market, we decided that it would be a good time to move. We wanted to move into something bigger and much closer to Austin's work. After meeting with our realtor, our house officially went on the market on a Thursday evening. By Friday night we had a full price offer plus multiple showings the next day. By the end of the day Saturday we had two full price offers and a bidding war happening. With our house sold, we quickly went house hunting trying to find a new place for us! We found a place in Saratoga Springs and luckily were able to place an offer on it and get it!

I really wanted to move into the house before the new babe was born and we managed to pull it off. We had 6 weeks from the time we were under contract until we had to move, so we had time to gradually pack boxes. When the actual moving day rolled around, we had some fantastic help (thanks to our parents) and were able to move pretty seamlessly. Austin threatened me that I wasn't allowed to help move because he didn't want me to go into labor. So moving day was a breeze for me (even though i felt guilty just sitting around all day)! We are gradually getting settled into our new place and I am already loving Austin getting home from work much earlier, a garage during the snowstorms, and the extra space! As Annie once said, "I think I'm gonna like it here!"

Keeping up with Kennadi.

Kennadi is pretty entertaining and is constantly keeping us on our toes. Some of the things she says and does we can't help but shake our heads and laugh. For memory sake here are some of instances where Kennadi has got us laughing....

*In nursery, Kennadi didn't want to share a certain toy so she opted to shove it down her dress instead. She then casually acted like she didn't know where it was to the other kids.

*She has a specific routine she insists we follow everytime we go to Maceys and do our grocery shopping. One of the first stops has to be to grab a doughnut (she always gets one with pink frosting or sprinkles), when we get by the pharmacy we have to stop and check our blood pressure, and finally she always asks the cashiers for candy at the check out line. If we skip any of the steps it usually results in a tantrum. I think its funny how insistent she is about her blood pressure. No 2 year old should be concerned about that yet!

*One of her favorite games to play is Cinderella. She will get all of her Cinderella dress up clothes on, run across the floor, lose one of her shoes, and then dramatically fall on the floor fake crying. She will fake cry until we grab the shoe and put it back on her foot like the prince does. She will then happily exclaim, "It fits! I'm a princess!"

*She will not let us call her anything but Kennadi. She hates nicknames. If we call her cutie pie, babe, Kenna bug or whatever, she quickly corrects us and says, "No. Kennadi."

*She is such a little peace maker and is always wanting to make sure we are happy. She is constantly asking us if we are happy. When we do get upset at her, her response is always, "Sorry. Happy now?"

*Everyone under the age of 12 is either a friend or cousin to Kennadi and she wants to get to know and play with everyone. When we pull up to a park its always, "yeah! My cousins are here." As soon as she gets out to play she will go up to everyone and say, "Hi! I'm Kennadi."

*One day we were eating carrots as a snack. Kennadi quickly went and gave Sveen, her tiny plastic reindeer, one. She then got pretty frustrated when it wouldn't fit in his mouth or he wouldn't take any bites of it.

2.5 Years

At 2.5 Years Kennadi is...

-wearing 2t clothes but should really be in 3t. I am just waiting for summer to roll around before I go buy her a totally new wardrobe.
-sleeps around 11 hours at night and is still rocking a solid 2-3 hour nap each afternoon. This mama is loving it!
-loves her fruits and vegetables. Some days its the only thing we can get her to eat!
-Is a social butterfly. She loves playing with other kids and would rather be anywhere but our house.
-Is directionally gifted (if that even is a thing?...). When we drive around town she can point out and recognize a lot of the buildings. Her favorites are the "coco" store (Costco), popcorn store (movie theater), fun cart store (maceys), Dinner stores, Clayci's school, and Lorie's church.
-loves the water. She could spend hours during bath time pretending to be a mermaid in the tub. We also took her to the swimming pool and she was swimming like a pro! I am thinking I need to get her in swim lessons sooner than later.
-loves reading. We are constantly going to the library to get some new books for her to thumb through. She is also very insistent about reading a book with us before nap and bed times.
-Still madly in love with the Disney Princesses, church (especially nursery), and her daddy.

Such a Cheeseball.
