Philadelphia.

I was given the opportunity to go to Philadelphia on another work trip. This time I went to put on the Dirty Dash instead of the 5K Foam Fest. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend too much time in the city. We spent most of our time in the outskirts of town (this resulted in outrageous allergies. It was bad. Real bad.). The race was held at a summer camp called Camp Kweebec. The place was just like a scene from Parent Trap. They had the cabins, dining hall, lake, swimming pools, and sports fields. I was a bit envious the whole time that I never got to go to a sweet summer camp like it!

We flew in on Wednesday and got hardly any sleep that night. Thursday morning I made the mistake of taking some allergy medicine that has drowsiness as a side effect. No sleep the night before plus allergy medicine is not a good combo. While we drove around picking up supplies, I found myself sprawled out in the backseat snoozing. Luckily I was with some amazing event managers who let me sleep the morning away! The whole set up went pretty uneventful, in fact the guys were champs and we stayed ahead schedule for most of the time. This resulted in an afternoon of testing out the giant slip'n'slide obstacles, playing on the camp's waterslides, and devouring our faces with Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches.

Event day was a blast, as usual (besides making some small children cry and being chastised by a pastor but that is a different story...).  Philadelphia was a great city with amazing people. Until next time Philly....
