24th of July.
The 24th of July was pretty low key in our neck of the woods. Austin had to work so we didn't have time to be too extreme with our party planning. Kennadi and I started the day watching the Fiesta Days parade. It is the nice the parade route is right by our house so we didn't have to venture out too far. Grandma and Grandpa along with the Clay and Lories family were there as well. After the parade, we took long naps and then went to grandma's house for a BBQ. Austin was finally able to join us for that! After the BBQ, we headed home and did some sparklers and pops in our backyard. Kennadi loved playing with the sparklers. She was a little too comfortable with it which made me nervous. Maybe next year she will be a little more cautious!

Seven Peaks.
This summer we have enjoyed the many days spent at Seven Peaks. We got the Pass of all Passes and I must say it was money well spent! Kennadi begs to go "swimming on the water slides" all the time. If it was up to her we would be there every day. Kennadi is a little fish in the water. She is getting really good to moving her arms and kicking her legs when she tries to swim (she claims she says she is a mermaid when she does this). She also loves going down the kid slides all by herself. I went down with her once and she refused to let me do it again. She is sure an independent little bugger. I think we are going to have a sad little girl on our hands when Seven Peaks closes for the season.

Potty Training.
Kennadi has been ready to be potty trained for months. I have been putting it off because it seemed like such a daunting task. I got a whole week off work so we decided to get it done! The weeks leading up to it, we have been introducing her to the potty. We also would look at the big girl panties when we were at walmart, watched some potty training videos, and read some books about going potty. It wasn't a new concept to her, which I think helped speed up the process a lot!
On day one, we started out just letting her run naked around the house and keeping a close eye on her. Once I saw that she was starting to pee, I would run her onto the toilet. I texted Austin around 9 am that first day asking if I could quit. I felt like i had only scrubbed the carpet since we woke up. We were having lots of accidents and I was getting discouraged. Around 11:30 am that day something clicked inside of Kennadi. She started becoming a potty training queen! The accidents were getting few and far between.
We have now been potty trained for about 2 weeks (with the exception of sleep times). Yes, we still have accidents every once in a while but I am so happy with how quickly we were able to tackle potty training. I received some criticism and weird looks when i told people that I was training my 22 month old but in our case it worked out! And i am sure happy it did!

4th of July.
Our fourth of July started off bright and early! We woke up and headed to Provo to see the Balloon festival. Kennadi loved looking at the "big balloons" especially the pig one. After the balloons were starting to descend, we headed to breakfast. Everywhere was packed so we settled on Carl's Jr (mainly because of the slides that Kennadi saw out the window and insisted she go on). After breakfast, we headed up American Fork Canyon for the Hunt Reunion. The reunion was pretty low key and relaxing. We had paper airplane contests (which i won two prizes for. Go me!). Kennadi, Easton, and Ella went swimming. We had delicious food and great company. We had every intention of staying the night with my parent's in their trailer. Kennadi had other plans though and just wanted to play. We ended up leaving that night to head home instead of sleeping over (the benefits of living close!). We left at the perfect time because as we were heading down the canyon we got to watch 5-6 different cities firework show. It was a perfect end to our 4th of July celebrations!
